This Stage3 demo is an actual active search against a live database with over 80,000 parts. This particular demo is designed to search on part number. You will see that the relevancy is selectable from 10% to 90%. This allows you to loosen and tighten your search. We don't believe that one relevancy value works for all search situations, so our software lets you decide what is best for you.

What is "relevancy"? In simple terms, the higher the relevancy selected, the more exact the input needs to be, and the more exact the search results will be.

To test it out, try this:

• Enter part number P32130
• Set the relevancy to 90% and click "Search"
  • You will get only one part number: P32130
  • At 90%, you are requesting almost an exact match (90% of a 6-digit number is 6 out of 6)
• Now set the relevancy to 70% and again, click "Search"
  • You will now get 13 parts as the search result.
  • 70% of the characters (or in this case, 5) will be included in the part numbers returned
• Finally, set the relevancy to 50% and click "Search"
  • The search now returns 239 part numbers that meet this relevancy criteria (50% or 3 characters are found in each of the returned part numbers).
